What happens at the moment of physical death?

Currently, we are witnessing a mass exodus of souls exiting this plain. There are many reasons why souls are leaving at this stage, some of which we will discuss in upcoming articles. Almost everyone is being affected in some way by people in their lives – family, friends, colleagues or other – who are choosing to exit at this time. Many people are wondering about what exactly happens when we die, and where we go after we die. In this article, I share what I learned from helping people cross to the other side. Death is a soul choice, meaning, even when it seems that someone died suddenly, each soul chooses when to exit (except in rare circumstances) and how to exit.

Through the years I have helped many to cross over, albeit in my personal life, I have been ‘fortunate’ to only experience the death of a loved one on a few occasions; not often suffering the overwhelming heartache of loss, the silence echoing their absence, deafening in its emptiness. However, I currently find myself in a situation where someone I loved a long time ago, just died.  This experience prompted me to think about the gift of being alive, and the world beyond this one – the world of spirit.

Over the years, as a Soul Healer / Shamanic Healer, I have helped and supported clients and their families, friends, and many others in the process of death and crossing over to the other side. Long before I knew what it meant to be a Soul Healer – I had frequent astral experiences with people who died.  This started when I was still a child and therefore I developed the ability to help souls cross over to the other side from an early age.  These experiences were with people either immediately after their death, while they were dying, or in some rare cases, years after they crossed over from being alive into that parallel plane unburdened by physical constraints.  Notably, in almost all the cases of people who crossed over to the other side, the element of water was prominent in some way.

Whenever a person dies, their soul seems to create a personal construct to help with their passing. Almost all these constructs seem to feature water in some form. In some cases of newly departed souls, regardless of the form of water present, the soul would not cross that water – even with much encouragement, for fear of the judgment they were sure would be following their passing.  In such cases I learned to understand that the soul would usually be wandering for a time, mostly because of the fear of being ‘judged’ by God, or because they had another fear that kept them ‘here’ until they were ready to leave this plane.

In rare cases, some souls experience the ‘nothingness’, or ‘the void’, when they die.  Being witness to souls crossing over into the void is a harrowing experience, as the process is filled with fear and shock on the part of the departed soul.

This scene above I have witness directly when ‘seeing’ some people go there after they died.  Over the years I’ve helped many people cross over to the other side, and because I am clairvoyant, I was able to see what they encountered during and immediately after crossing over to the other side (shortly after they died).

I’ve never seen a soul cross over into what society has come to identify as ‘hell’, although in different circumstances, I have brought soul fragments back from what we refer to in Shamanic terms as ‘The Underworld’, for patients, when I was still a Shamanic Healer.

In only a few rare cases, where I did not take people over myself but were merely granted to witness the process, I perceived the never-ending black void.  In those cases, the departed had been agnostics with no strong spiritual foundation to speak of.  They did not expect anything after dying, and in their construct they were taken to the void.  They believed that death meant an eternity in a coffin or a place of nothingness.

One might argue that the void they perceived could be understood as being eternally inside a coffin, but there is indication from case research into the afterlife that there is such a place as the ‘Nothingness’, or ‘The Void’.  A soul will seemingly stay there until they reach the next level of consciousness – which is usually when they reach the understanding that the void is an in-between place, and that they do not have to stay there for eternity. The period of time spent there depends on the ability of the soul to understand the concepts of The Creator, eternity, love, forgiveness and the construct.

Documented cases of patients who spent time in the void and other places between lives exist, some shared by reputable researchers like Dr. Brian Weiss or the Somnambulist Regression Therapist Dolores Cannon.

The number of documented cases and studies is growing rapidly, and we are currently experiencing an explosion of new information about this field of study. I believe the reason for all this new information coming out now – with witness testimony and related evidence, is because the world and its people are ready to understand the journey of the soul so much better than just a few years ago. As more people on earth awaken, it raises the collective consciousness and we become more open to grasping spiritual concepts.

From personally observing those who crossed over – over decades – and learning from those who found themselves in my healing room, it has become quite clear to me that every lifetime is important in the process of ascending onto a higher consciousness.  Even those who choose to be disconnected from our Creator are in the process of ascending in their consciousness.

There may be obvious reasons for a soul to choose such a life while in physical form, or less obvious reasons, and for that reason we should never judge anyone for the path they choose.  None of us has all the answers – even when we think we do.

A soul might, in one aspect or timeline, experience serious religious persecution and vow to never again be embroiled in religion – so in another timeline (or another aspect) they may rather choose a lifetime of being non-religious.  Super religious people may experience an urge in this lifetime to dedicate their lives to the Creator after having experienced extreme sin or ‘bad-ass-ness’ in another timeline (aspect).  There is simply no real way of knowing why any soul in physical form makes the decisions it does.

However at some point, every soul reaches a level of hunger for soul fulfillment.  And because on this plane we have people on all kinds of religious and non-religious paths, and no two people truly walk the same path, we find ourselves in the perfect position to grow and ascend onto the higher levels of consciousness.

Many of us are too quick to judge without fully understanding that each soul is on its personal path of soul growth, and that in the end we will all once again unite and be whole.   In our 3D plain of duality, the light has the ability to shine on darkness – and darkness creeps in where there is no love and forgiveness. The one is intrinsically linked to the other, and the construct is designed to teach us about love; through adversity and strain.

Love and fear each has purpose.  It would be impossible to truly learn about love when we never experience its opposite: hatred, pain, unfairness, judgment, humiliation or indifference.  We need (on this plane) the darkness of fear consciousness to teach us how to overcome, heal and cultivate unconditional love.  Constant love and acceptance can rarely be more effective teachers than lack and struggle.  So we shall embrace our tough lessons, and we shall grow from the experience they bring us.
